Sebastian König – Camera Tracking with Blender
Wensday 26 october 2011 – 9.15/13.00 Sala Einaudi
One of the latest tools that is being developed for Blender is camera-tracking. With that it is possible to import footage into Blender, track it and calculate a virtual camera from that, so that you can place 3d elements in it. The camera tracker will probably be implemented into the main version of Blender by the end of 2011. Even though still under development it’s already quite stable and usable! The integration of a camera-tracker directly into a 3d-application allows some very fast and straightforward workflows. Together with the built-in compositor this makes Blender a great tool for VFX work. In this workshop Sebastian König will introduce the new features and show you how to use the camera tracker in Blender. After creating a stable track you’ll learn how to place objects into the footage by using Blender’s renderlayers and the compositor. The workshop also covers how to do 2d tracking, masking, stabilization and 3d-reconstruction of the scene.
